What is Via Ferrata?
Via Ferrata is an intermediate stage between mountain hiking and climbing. It is a mountain route, most of the time on steep rock faces, which present in the risk areas fixed elements of self-assurance (cables, chains, railings, bridges) as well as artificial hand and foot grips (steps, sconces, bolts , metal stairs). Completing such a route requires specific mandatory equipment (harness, 2 poles equipped with carabiners for self-belaying and a helmet).
